Portrait of a little lady

I'm sharing my favorite image from my photo session today...

It's my favorite because I had to work really hard to get it.

This little old soul is brilliant beyond her 5 years and wanted absolutely nothing to do with me. She very politely told me so. It was a challenge to get a few seconds of cooperation and a little eye contact. Success is always sweeter when you have to work for it:-)

Happy 2008!

Tis the season...

We hope you're having as much fun this holiday season as we are!
We are so grateful that we were able to spend a lot of time with our families.
James Ryan got a lot of awesome gifts - so so many toys, he is playing a talking up a storm.

Santa is a great guy, he also bought me a new camera:)

The sugary bribe

that got me 3 seconds of semi-cooperation. James Ryan's first Candy Kane.

{He's wearing a Santa hat that is way too big}

This week, he is really into books, and he's finally moved beyond babbles and mimicking words. He's talking a lot, and with purpose. He says bot bot when he sees his bottle and Dada when he sees Jim, and kitty cat.

Hope you're all having a great weekend:-)

Hibernating...

That's our plan and I like it:) We stocked up on groceries this morning and we're going to keep it really low key this weekend. We're going to finish decorating and rest, and I think that's it. Yay! We really need a weekend like this.

I don't have any new photos of James Ryan today, but I do have a few favorites from my photo session this week.

Enjoy...

We are thankful....

for many, many things this year, but especially this sweet boy...

We had a great Thanksgiving. James Ryan loves a great party and had a blast on Wednesday and Thursday. He played with his cousins Aidan and Kate on Wednesday at Jeanne's. He really enjoyed the hustle and bustle of the City. He even caught a glimpse of the Shrek ballon being blown up for the big Macy's Tday parade.

On Thursday, he loved hanging out at Uncle Andy's new place, playing his keyboard and walking on the boardwalk. We had a great breakfast there with Andrew, Rob, and baby Robbie.

He played outside in the leaves at Sue's and learned a new word 'Steve,' {sorry uncle andy}.
Then, the main event, dinner at Grandma Sue's was so yummy!

Weeeee're home..from Mexico

The wedding was amazing, so much fun! Tara was a gorgeous bride, truly stunning. We're so happy for Tara and Kev!
James Ryan and I are sick:-( We're just starting to feel a little better, but we've had a rough few days.

We didn't get a lot of sleep in Mexico, these photos were taken at sunrise on 2 different days...

Beauty

I love this one from my session on Sunday, isn't she gorgeous?

You may recognize her from The Devil Wears Prada. She and her sister played the twins. They're heading out to LA this winter for pilot season, so hopefully you'll see more of them soon...

The Jims and I are super-busy this week working and getting ready for Mexico!!!! I can't believe the big day is almost here:-) We're so looking forward to it.

Look really close

Hey everyone!
If you look real close, I bet you can see my tooth.

Have a great weekend!
Love, James Ryan

Yes, we're still here, is anyone still reading?

I know, the blog posts have been scarce lately:) Sorry, I hope they pick up again soon. It's a busy time for us.
In a nutshell, we've been working {too much}, looking at houses, traveling, and gearing up for the big trip to Mexico!
Last weekend we had an awesome time in NY on Saturday and then we went to PA on Sunday for Kristen and Woody's wedding, which was amazing. Kristen is so talented, everything she did {the programs, center pieces, favors, etc.} was gorgeous! I have a few photos to share and I will soon.
I'm very excited because I have 2 photo sessions scheduled this weekend - I can't wait. Jim is going to Jersey City to hang out with Mark the Shark/Kyle/& Willy Mac on Saturday...and then to the Gaints/Niners game on Sunday with my Dad. They're fired up about that.
James Ryan is great, his favorite activity these days is hide and seek. He is so funny. Not talking much yet, but he babbles in his own language a lot and he understands everything, I know he does. He thinks he's about 5 years old, he always wants to be independent and doesn't like to do anything normal one year-olds do, like ride in strollers and drink from sippy-cups. He'd rather push the empty stroller around and drink from a glass, even though he spills half of its contents.

We got very exciting news last night, KELLY AND SEAN ARE ENGAGED!!!! I'm so happy for them!
Congrats guys! Can't wait to see you guys and hear what you're thinking for the wedding.

We'll I'm running out to meet Jim and look at another house this morning. I think we've officially decided on Moorestown...so we're excited about that.

Bye for now, I'll have photos to share very soon.
xoxo
PS - Love and well wishes to our loved ones in Florida...we miss you guys and are so looking forward to seeing you in November!

Look who it is:)

My friend Allyson caught this adorable shot of James Ryan today.

She is a great photographer, check out her site here.
Allyson is a friend from highshool. I saw a friend of hers at Tara's shower who mentioned that Allyson is a photographer and gave me her contact info....I feel so lucky to catch up with an old friend who is as crazy about photography as I am:)

quick update

for anyone who is still reading.
It's been a crazy busy few weeks for us. No time for new pics of James Ryan
tonight:(

I do have time for a quick story -
Tonight at bath time, James Ryan managed to do pee-pees on my foot while he simultaneously picked up his dry clothes off the floor and threw them into the bathtub. He then flashed me a mischievous grin and giggled, I had to laugh:)

I had a lot of fun my photo session yesterday, I just uploaded a sneak peek onto my photography blog for my clients. Check it out.

Christmas in September

Although I get annoyed when I see holiday decor in the stores before Halloween, it's not too early to start thinking about holiday photography.

Here is a sneak peek of the yummy holiday card options I'll be offering my photography clients this year....

It's fun to be {1}...

James Ryan had a great first bday, a trip to the beach, two servings of ice cream, and he received a package of 'oh so adorable' gifts from his
Yia Yai(s) and Papou(s). What more could a one year old ask for?

He couldn't stuff the ice cream cake in his mouth fast enough...I think he's wondering "what's going on, why are they letting me do this?"
